Washington Connection offers a number of other resources on the Explore Options page. Some of these local services include:
Bank on Seattle/King County
1-800-621-4636
A partnership of banks and credit unions and community organizations — helps people open free or low-cost checking or savings accounts and offers access to financial education providers to help you learn more about managing your money and saving for the future.
Seattle Jobs Initiative
206-628-6975
Seattle residents can acquire job training and support services, including access to housing, childcare, transportation and counseling. Together, these services make it possible for people to secure, retain and advance in jobs that pay a living wage.
Tax Preparation
United Way of King County provides free tax preparation and access to the Earned Income Tax Credit to help working families increase their incomes and create savings. The Tax Campaign allows people to keep more of their hard-earned money and avoid paying unnecessary fees for commercial tax preparation and "rapid refund" loans. The program begins early in January and continues through mid-April.
